You place a great deal of trust in who you choose as an expert to help you and your loved ones, and I respect that. I strive to maintain a warm and inviting practice with the highest standards of confidential and personalized care. I have a Ph.D. in clinical psychology with advanced expertise in clinical child, pediatric, and family psychology. I carefully review the latest research findings and use treatments that work. My goal is to work with you as a team to help you thrive and get back to enjoying life to its fullest as soon as possible.
I care deeply about my clients and aim to provide the best care possible for them. Toward that end, I pursue excellence in my practice work. In preparation for my current practice, I worked on several psychology research teams as an undergraduate at the University of Georgia. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with Highest Honors with a major in psychology and a minor in statistics. I then sought graduate training at the University of Florida where I obtained my Master of Science and Doctor of Philosphy degrees. While at UF, I further specialized in clinical child and pediatric psychology services. I received state-of-the-art training in research and clinical practice. I participated in a predoctoral residency and then postdoctoral fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia where I specialized in child and family services.
I opened my private practice in 2006 and counsel children, adolescents, adults, and families from all walks of life with problems that have arisen in their lives that they simply are not able to handle on their own, but with a little assistance and a guiding hand they can overcome. My services include psychological evaluation and psychotherapy, involving individual and family therapy, parent consultations, and case management. Additionally, I often work in collaboration with a variety of other health and educational professionals.
Regarding therapy, I specialize in stress and anger management, anxiety, grief and loss, depression, parenting, life coaching, spirituality, behavior problems, ADHD, OCD, eating disorders, trauma, PTSD, and assisting with health psychology issues such as management of chronic pain and and helping individuals adhere to medical treatment protocols (e.g., post surgery, cancer, diabetes, and cystic fibrosis).
I also have specialized training in clinical child, pediatric, and family therapy, including sub-specializations in parent management training and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy targeted for preschoolers and young children with disruptive behavior (see www.pcit.org for more information). However, my capabilities go beyond these practice areas, and I will gladly try to help you with other difficulties you may have.
If you are looking for an evaluation or psychological testing, I provide these services for both children and adults. I would love to consult with you regarding whether an assessment would be right for you or a family member.
I conduct child and adolescent psychological evaluations for the following, but not limited to: Intelligence (e.g., gifted, mental retardation), Learning Disability/Psychoeducational, Pervasive Developmental Disabilities/Disorders (e.g., autism, Asperger's), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Disruptive Behavior Problems (e.g., oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder), Emotional/Mood Issues (e.g., depression, anxiety, bipolar, separation anxiety, panic, phobia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, psychosis, posttraumatic stress disorder), Eating and Elimination (toileting) Problems (e.g., anorexia, bulimia, enuresis, encopresis), Communication Issues, Impulse-Control Disorders (e.g., trichotillomania), and Social Functioning.
I conduct health psychology evaluations for individuals of all ages for the following: Eating Disorders, Bariatric Surgery Candidacy (e.g., gastric bypass, Lap-Band), Gestational Surrogate Candidacy, Transplant Candidacy (e.g., organ, cochlear implant), and Pain.
In addition to my private practice, I advocate for optimal mental health, in particular child psychology, in my community. As such, I have volunteered presentations and lectures on multiple occasions. Additionally, I have published and presented on local, regional, national, and international levels.
My privately located office is convenient to the Gwinnett County and neighboring areas of Atlanta. Please call for a free initial telephone consultation to see if testing or therapy is right for you or a family member. · read more![]()
